The Huntington African American Museum Collections
Our Collection Is Taking Shape
The Huntington African American Museum will bring together objects, documents, and historical materials that illuminate the experiences of African Americans across New York State, beginning with the people and histories of Huntington.
The collection currently includes over 1500 objects recovered from the Crippen archaeological excavation, offering a tangible connection to the lives of African Americans on Long Island and their place in New York’s broader history.
As the collection grows and materials are prepared for public presentation, we look forward to sharing the objects, stories, and histories that connect communities across New York.
